For the first nine months of 2026, trading volumes for several petroleum products on the St. Petersburg Exchange in the Urals Federal District rose: bitumen trading jumped tenfold, oils fourfold, and LPG, including SHFLU and FLU, grew by more than three times. In monetary terms, LPG trading volume increased to 3.73 billion rubles, and in physical terms to 154,051 tonnes (+45.9%, +3.7%).
Among LPG categories, technical propane showed the strongest momentum: volume up 94.7% to 8,854 tonnes; value up 166.2% to 248.8 million rubles. The volume of technical propane-butane (PTB) / automotive propane-butane (PBA) rose 97% to 8,165 tonnes, with value up 202.6% to 199.2 million rubles. The number of concluded contracts rose by 115 to 202 (+132.2%). Automotive propane trades amounted to 7,968 tonnes (+3%), valued at 163.9 million rubles (+64.1%). The volume of trades for technical butane reached 312 tonnes (+4.7%), with value of 5.8 million rubles (+14.1%).
«The main reason for the growth in these directions is market participants' need for price benchmarks to plan purchases and sales. These segments of petroleum products became priorities for UrFO regional companies during the reporting period, leveraging the mechanism of the country’s largest marketplace on the commodity market,» said Teimuraz Kharazashvili, Director of Regional Policy for the UrFO at the St. Petersburg Exchange.
Significant growth in nine months 2026 was recorded in the bitumen market. Trading volume reached 8,554 tonnes, up 906.4% year-on-year. In monetary terms, the indicator rose by 648.7% to 212.9 million rubles; the number of contracts rose by 272.4% to 108.
Main trading volume was in road bitumen — 8,365 tonnes (+884.1%). Trades of polymer-bitumen binder (PBB) amounted to 189 tonnes for 9.18 million rubles. Trading in oils of all types rose 302.5% to 1,630 tonnes, with value up 425.6% to 145.1 million rubles. Trading of base oils increased 150% to 275 tonnes; value up 237.8% to 32.6 million rubles. Trading of industrial oils reached 1,290 tonnes (+337.3%), with value 106.9 million rubles (+495%). Compressor oils were sold 65 tonnes for 5.7 million rubles. In the LPG segment, including SHFLU and FLU, trading volume reached 7,917 tonnes (+230.2%), value 190.1 million rubles (+420.6%); the number of contracts rose 173.2% to 112.
