Since the start of 2026, the Petersburg Exchange has traded 3,007,589 cubic meters of timber. As of October 21, total turnover reached 5.94 billion rubles, and the number of concluded contracts stood at 8,321. The number of registered participants and client participants reached 4,813, up 469 since the start of the year.

Traditionally, the leader by volume is Krasnoyarsk Krai, with enterprises selling 1,162,960 cubic meters of timber, about 39% of the total. Other major regions include: Udmurt Republic – 281,099 m³; Sverdlovsk Oblast – 202,839 m³; Tver Oblast – 170,697 m³; Vologda Oblast – 161,944 m³.

The milestone of 2 million cubic meters was reached in late July, and in less than three months participants traded about another million cubic meters. Maintaining this dynamic is particularly meaningful against a backdrop of declining timber harvests, as the exchange market remains a stable channel for product realization.

Key advantages of timber trading on the Petersburg Exchange include transparency and openness of deals, financial safety as the exchange acts as payer and guarantor of timely delivery, traceability of wood through the federal accounting system, expanded geographic reach with participation from multiple regions, and support for export operations using modern logistics mechanisms (OTP RZD).
