The Petersburg Exchange’s training seminar on the Electronic Trading System (ETS) and clearing procedures was aimed at new and prospective participants in the Metals and Alloys section and covered the structure of trading, the process for placing orders and executing trades, electronic document flow, and the back office of the clearing system.

The speaker, Stanislav Bakumenko, head of the department of industry business development, explained the trading mechanics and demonstrated how to place bids and conclude trades in the trading terminal.

The event also highlighted the Exchange’s marketing period: for new participants with the Trading Visitor status, participation in trades is free, and the amount of margin required to fund the clearing account for placing an order was reduced from 5% to 0.1% for all participants in the section. The speaker answered questions about registration with the Exchange.

The Metals and Alloys section in 2026 has become one of the most dynamic, with an expanded tradables list to include strip, profile, tubes, forgings, rounds, I-beams, channels, stainless hot-rolled sheet, and ferrous scrap; first aluminum trades have occurred; trading volumes for eight months of 2026 exceeded total 2025 figures. Dozens of new companies registered as market participants. The seminar attracted representatives from 13 Russian regions: Belgorod, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, the Udmurt Republic, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and Moscow.
