More than 7,000 off-exchange contracts for fish products have been registered on the Petersburg Exchange since March of this year under Government Resolution No. 892 dated 31 May 2023. Over 190 industry companies are registering off-exchange deals on the Exchange platform.
This was announced by the Exchange's Vice President Dmitry Chernyshov at public hearings in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on the topic 'Digitization of the fishing industry.' He presented key results of the off-exchange contract registration mechanism and noted the role of exchange indicators as objective price benchmarks for the market and for state authorities.
During his remarks, the Vice President emphasized the development of exchange indicators calculated from objective data on exchange and off-exchange deals. The transparent methodology enables proper comparison of exchange and off-exchange prices. These indicators are recognized as market benchmarks in both antitrust and tax legislation, ensuring price transparency for all participants in the industry.
