The Petersburg Exchange is expanding its presence in Africa, building trading links with key countries on the continent in close coordination with government institutions within the Intergovernmental Commissions.

The priority is to create barrier-free cross-border trade for agricultural commodities, mineral raw materials, and high value-added products. At the Russia–Tanzania Joint Intergovernmental Commission meeting, key agreements were signed and included in the final protocol, with instructions to continue cooperation between the Petersburg Exchange and the Tanzania Mercantile Exchange.

This year a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Egypt Commodity Exchange (ECX) under the BRICS Working Group on Competition in Food Markets. An agreement with the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange was also signed, and dialogue is ongoing with Kenya (agriculture, coffee, cocoa), Nigeria (petroleum products), Togo and Ghana. The over-the-counter CET VR platform is being promoted as a venue for trading specialized goods and services.
