At the seminar for Finance University faculty, Petersburg Exchange CEO Igor Brykalin explained how new product groups are brought to exchange trading, how organized trading is conducted, and how deals are concluded and obligations subsequently cleared.
Market participants gain direct access to buying and selling, straightforward deal formation, regular trading sessions, a fair market price, and direct contracts between buyers and producers, which reduces the number of intermediaries.
Obstacles to bringing new goods to exchange trading include established sales practices and reluctance by companies to reorganize trading processes due to limited understanding of exchange benefits. The project to introduce new product groups comprises initiation, preparation, implementation, and the launch of trading for the new product.
During the information-exchange demonstration among the Exchange’s electronic trading, clearing, and CRM systems, the process of fulfilling monetary and goods obligations and the corresponding clearing procedures were described in detail using a typical exchange transaction.
