In the new issue of the Market Bulletin, there is an analysis of how exchange mechanisms can strengthen economic sovereignty.

The Government of Indonesia, in conjunction with the parliament, announced the creation of the National Strategic Minerals and Commodities Exchange, with a planned commercial launch on January 1, 2027.

This will move trading of such strategic commodities as nickel, tin, copper, bauxite and gold from foreign exchanges to national jurisdiction.

The main goal is to reduce dependence on price formation on foreign platforms for Indonesia's export commodities. See the Market Bulletin for experts' perspectives and regulatory insights (PDF: Source).
