The exchange, in collaboration with VK Tech, is developing a new fault-tolerant trading system for the commodity market, drawing on the proven architecture of the futures market and adapting it to more complex trading rules.

Order processing rules on the commodity market are more complex than those on the futures market; during load testing, scenarios of simultaneous connections by up to 10,000 traders were simulated, ten times higher than the current daily average.

The main metrics characterizing reliability and efficiency of the new system will be the actual downtime and the time to prepare and describe new trading instruments.

The set of forms and widgets in the trading-clearing terminal will remain unchanged: the terminal will present the new system behind it, but the interface will stay the same. Industry experience with the futures market indicates a smooth transition: the same tools through the same user interface, but on the new system. The product suite includes specifications for energy carriers, timber and construction materials, petroleum products, agro-industrial complex products, among others; the new 'Specifications accounting' module provides rapid configuration for trading new products.
