Coal trading on the Petersburg Exchange enables rapid deal closure and pricing in a competitive environment, with shipments starting from a single wagon (about 70 tonnes) and delivery directly to the boiler house or other site.

Key advantages include speed of execution and market-based pricing due to anonymous competition on the auctions and the absence of middlemen.

Regional housing and utilities ministries regularly procure coal for heating social facilities; traders can use the exchange mechanism to finalize transactions quickly with guaranteed fulfillment and transparent pricing. At the same time, purchases of exchange goods on organized auctions are expressly exempt from regulation under 223-FZ, per paragraph 2, part 4, article 1 of Law No. 223-FZ; the customer may conduct such purchases under Law No. 325-FZ 'On Organized Auctions' or include an appropriate exclusion in the procurement regulations.

The marketing period for new participants runs until December 31, 2026: participants categorized as 'Trading Visitors' may participate in the auctions for free. Additional information is available at the following resources: Petersburg Exchange site, VKontakte, Dzen, T-pulse.
