At the annual meeting of the International Association of Exchanges (MAAB), the election for the Chair of the Committee on Commodity Markets took place, and the new head is Anton Karpov, Senior Vice President of the Saint Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. Representatives of leading exchange platforms and CIS organizations attended the meeting, and key directions for the committee’s future work were outlined, with a focus on information exchange.
The near‑term emphasis will be on information exchange due to the rapid development of exchange technologies. There is a need for more points of interaction, including in the area of training and professional development of exchange professionals and clients — that is, organizing modern seminars and other educational events. This will help in forming a single information environment, increasing trading transparency, and ensuring mutual access for market participants to trading.
Attendees included the Eurasian Trading System Exchange (Kazakhstan), the Belarus Universal Commodity Exchange, the Caspian Commodity Exchange (Kazakhstan), the Saint Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange; the Executive Committee of the CIS, and representatives of other exchanges and organizations.
